What People Say

Most Liked

The handmade tortillas at Salsa are often the star of the show. Patrons rave about their perfect thickness and texture, enhanced by the crispy frying process. The breakfast burrito, filled with bacon, eggs, cheese, and potato, garners rave reviews for its flavor and satisfying portions—perfect for starting the day right.

Many love how the chorizo burrito and carne asada fries deliver big on taste while remaining reasonably priced. The salsas are also a highlight, with the red salsa quite popular for its not-too-spicy kick that often complements various dishes perfectly. The availability of late-night food, alongside welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, keeps guests returning for more.

Most Disliked

While the food is praised, the café’s size can make it feel crowded during peak hours, particularly on Saturdays. Guests often mention the lack of public restrooms as a drawback, especially for families or larger groups. The small dining area may not be ideal for those looking to host big gatherings, as the focus is more on quick meals rather than large get-togethers.

It’s wise to plan your visit around peak times, which typically see Saturday lunches packed at 11 AM. Arriving for breakfast or late-night meals often yields a more relaxed experience.

Additionally, some diners note the limited menu options on days with specials, wishing for more variety every visit, though the consistent quality oftentimes makes up for this.

My wife and I were passing through the little town of Ramona, and we stumbled on this little gem. Seriously the best tacos I’ve ever had and it was all because of how they make their tortillas. They are home made and very thin. Then they fry it and make the perfect tacos. And the Chorizo burrito was made with the same magical tortilla. Please tell me how you make them so thin! Next time we come back to San Diego, we’re coming back.

The cashier was helpful in explaining what was in a food items when asked. We got 2 bean & cheese burritos, one Baja burrito and a carne asada fries to go. It was all very good and we really liked the salsa too, the red was my favorite. A good Mexican food option in downtown Ramona.

Great place for SoCal Mexican food. They have food for every meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are open late as well. It’s s a small fast food restaurant and wouldn’t be good for parties or group dinning. They do not have a public restroom. Plenty of parking out front. Located behind the Ramona McDonald’s.

The best Mexican food in town. Hands down. Their salsas are so delicious too. Not too spicy, pretty perfect!

Best California Burritos and Carne Asada fries in town. I will fight anyone who says differently. 😄 Not only do they taste the best. Salsa is the most consistent and affordable. Their food hasn't changed in 20 years, and I love and appreciate I don't even have to worry about my order being correct. It is the only place I go that I don't double check my food.

The best carne asada nachos in Ramona. Second place is the California breakfast burrito.
